About me

Hello, I’m Lucy.

I am a skilled ceramicist with over 25 years' experience, based at Fishponds Pottery in Bristol, UK.  My work has been sporadic the entire time due to chronic illness, but in the past three years, I’ve recovered enough to have a consistent practice.  I create hand-built and thrown wares that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.  I’ve recently started to engage more with ceramic history, and my practice has pivoted which has helped build in deeper layers of life and meaning to my work.  In my studio, I embrace both traditional and contemporary techniques, aiming to honour the legacy of studio ceramics.

Aside from clay, I love…music, gardening, cycling, watching old films, ancient oak trees and paper ephemera (especially old stamps).
